Hi! I'm Shane.
I'm a software engineer based in New York. I mostly work on web apps, backend services, and developer tools. I like fixing friction. You can learn more about my work on this site (which also hosts some music that I've written). Take a look/listen!
Me

I studied computer science at Duke and graduated in 2023, with minors in economics and music. Don't ask me about my music theory classes...
After graduation, I spent three years as a software engineer at Capital One. Most recently, I helped build an enterprise sandbox platform that lets teams run coding agents like Claude Code in isolated cloud workspaces. I also led development of a software discovery portal and built a CLI that let coding agents build and deploy ServiceNow apps. I mostly work with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind on the frontend, and Python, Node, and Postgres on the backend. I like to find the parts of a workflow that get in the way and simplify them.
Offline, I write and perform music, both by myself and with a band. I also enjoy being outside and active (this can involve anything from reading and hiking to cycling, bouldering, skateboarding, running, basketball, etc.)

Senior Associate Software Engineer · Associate Software Engineer
Built platforms that employees and support teams use to manage software and devices. I led development of an employee software portal, built a deployment CLI, and worked on device and vulnerability tracking tools as well as the data pipeline behind company-wide reporting on device fleet health and security posture. I also helped build an enterprise sandbox platform that lets teams run coding agents like Claude Code in isolated cloud workspaces.

- ShlookA CLI and archive that publish agent-created sites and images with private, public, or secret-link sharing.
- AI Push HooksA tool that runs checks before a Git push, mixing ordinary scripts with AI review steps that can only make limited edits.
- Ez-DevboxA TypeScript CLI that creates disposable E2B development sandboxes for coding-agent workflows.
- Mc-AwsA control panel that starts, stops, backs up, and hibernates a Minecraft server on AWS, so the server costs a few cents per hour of play.
- ChoRotateA shared chore calendar that rotates roommates' assignments, handles turn swaps, and sends optional text reminders.
- Apt-ThingAn NYC apartment-hunting app for roommates, with AI that fills in listing details so the group can focus on choosing a place.
- Ez-MuxA terminal workspace for running coding agents side by side and moving between tasks without losing your place.
